Alternative Controllers: Dmitry Shtatnov's Wob-Wob Fader

Dmitry Shtatnov uploaded a nice video from his latest DIY-project/invention.
He created a CV-source module that consists of an 8 HP front-panel with two faders, two separate mini-jack outputs and a switch.

The faders generate CV voltages, and each fader has its own output.
A switch is added to select between (regular) fader mode and so-called wob-wob mode with a 0V.-centre in the middle.
I must say it does create a nice effect, and IMO not only suitable for making Dub-Step...

As an alternative you could also use the A-174-2 Modulation Wheels CV Source for this.

This module has 2 wheels, and comes standard as one spring loaded wheel with bipolar voltage output, and one wheel without spring with only positive voltage output as a standard.

For each wheel two jumpers are available: one for the voltage range (positive or bipolar) and one for the voltage plateau around 0 V.
Another option to re-create this effect would be with an A-174(-1) Joystick module...

Quick Tip VIII : Mounting the A-174-2 Wheels Module

Please be aware of this when you want to install an A-174-2 Wheels Module in your A-100 rack;

As the potentiometer of the left wheel projects about 10 milimeters beside the rim of the front panel, a 2 or 4 HP blind panel has to be mounted left from the module. "

Unless the module left to the A-174-2 has sufficient space in this area of course.Like an A-174-1 Joystick Controlled CV, for example.

None of the A-100 modules that are 4 HP wide fit there...

A-174-2 Modulation Wheels CV Source

Last week i received my latest A-100 Module.
It's the A-174-2, Modulation Wheels CV Source, a module with two wheels.
I got the original version, with a spring loaded wheel at the left side with bipolar voltage output, and a wheel without spring at the right side with only positive voltage output.

It doesn't make any sounds, but it does offer me more (voltage) control over the sound. Both wheels deliver two identical voltage outputs.

First times i tried it out was in combination with the filters, adding voltage to the cutoff range and adding resonance... very basic stuff, but impressive.
This should also work very well with the Voltage Inverter Module (A-175), i can't wait to try this (and more) out soon.

I can't say it is the prettiest module because the wheels are quite large, but they feel great and seem to react very accurate.
